Laparoscopic cholecystectomy with only one port

In 1997, we initiated what we considered our philosophy of the "surgery without trace", when replacing the ports of attendance by percutaneous needles of 1mm or less (hook-needle, passing suture needle, reins of traction). Of immediate way our technique showed its kindness to us and since then we made it in routine form in all the patients who require cholecystectomy, competing with advantage with the traditional laparoscopic technique. Better esthetic aspect (without visible scar) Better acceptance of the surgery by the patient Less postoperating pain Diminution of costs (it does not use ports of attendance, nor clips) Does not require selection (applicable to 96% of the patients) Same surgical time We have become familiar so much with the use of percutaneous needles that we extended the application of the "surgery without trace" to other surgical techniques like appendectomy, ovarian cystectomy, hysterectomy, exploration of bile ducts, etc.

Abstract
In 1997, we initiated what we considered our philosophy of the "surgery without trace", when replacing the ports of attendance by percutaneous needles of 1mm or less (hook-needle, passing suture needle, reins of traction). Of immediate way our technique showed its kindness to us and since then we made it in routine form in all the patients who require cholecystectomy, competing with advantage with the traditional laparoscopic technique.
Better esthetic aspect (without visible scar)
Better acceptance of the surgery by the patient
Less postoperating pain
Diminution of costs (it does not use ports of attendance, nor clips)
Does not require selection (applicable to 96% of the patients)
Same surgical time

We have become familiar so much with the use of percutaneous needles that we extended the application of the "surgery without trace" to other surgical techniques like appendectomy, ovarian cystectomy, hysterectomy, exploration of bile ducts, etc.
